Conservation for the Confluence

Modernize the grid. Protect the Confluence.

signatures for responsible routing

Ameren Missouri is selecting a route for new high-voltage transmission lines near the place where the Missouri meets the Mississippi: an ecosystem of national significance and a critical link in the Mississippi Flyway.

A coalition of conservation organizations, landowners, and citizens supports modernizing Missouri's grid. We simply ask that new lines follow existing corridors rather than opening new ones through the landscape that people who love the outdoors, stewards of the land, clubs, farmers, and volunteers have spent generations protecting and restoring. The Confluence is an irreplaceable treasure, not vacant land. More than $58 million in documented public and private conservation investment is already in the ground here, and a new corridor would cut through work Missourians have paid for.

Every signed Declaration is delivered directly to Ameren's project team and logged in the official project record.

What the Declaration Says

We support investments that strengthen Missouri's electric transmission system.

We oppose the establishment of new transmission corridors through the Confluence east of Highway 79.

We ask decision-makers to give priority preference to routes that follow existing transportation and utility corridors.
